The Brief
Standard Practice Productions and writer-director Sau Dachi engaged Artisyn Communications to support media coverage for the micro-budget feature Suit Hung. Tied Tongue.
The film follows brothers Seán and Freddie Halpin (Paul St Leger and Alex Eydt) who, after the preventable death of their mother linked to the CervicalCheck scandal, become radicalised against the Irish state and plan the murder of a TD. Presented in a mockumentary style, it explores the fallout of their actions - national outrage, disgust and pockets of support - against a backdrop of housing crisis, political polarisation and institutional failure.
The task was to introduce a provocative, low-budget Irish feature shot in a guerrilla style, to Irish and international journalists, festival programmers and audiences. Coverage needed to run from early festival selections and the sold-out Dublin premiere through private screenings, festival awards and the 2025 online release. This is an ongoing media outreach campaign.
The Approach
Artisyn framed the film around its core strengths: a distinctive mockumentary form, strong social commentary rooted in real Irish issues (CervicalCheck, housing, political distrust), and its status as a true micro-budget guerrilla production that still delivered visceral set pieces (including dashcam footage) and a tense score by Grammy nominee Dario Rodighiero.
Outreach was sequenced around the film’s calendar. Early briefings supported festival selections (Richard Harris International Film Festival, Underground Film Festival win for Best Feature, nominations at Louth International and Vancouver Badass). Local and specialist titles were prioritised for the Dublin Savoy premiere and subsequent private screenings in Cork and Galway. National digital and broadcast followed once reviews and awards provided social proof, with emphasis on the unconventional release strategy (controlled private screenings rather than a wide theatrical run) and the film’s willingness to confront uncomfortable questions about radicalisation and systemic failure.
Key angles included the director’s insistence that the film does not glorify violence, the contribution of actors (including a poem and song by Alex Eydt), the all-Irish cast and locations, and later the online premiere on the Irish platform Eiretainment.com (including a subtitled version). Messaging stayed consistent: a cautionary, formally ambitious Irish drama made with limited resources but high formal ambition.

Outcomes
Suit Hung. Tied Tongue secured a Best Feature win at the Underground Film Festival, nominations at Richard Harris, Louth International and Vancouver Badass, and a sold-out Dublin premiere at the Savoy. Private screenings followed in Cork (IndieCork at the Arc Cinema) and other centres.
National and international coverage framed the film as a formally ambitious, socially engaged Irish drama that punched well above its micro-budget. The Guardian review positioned it alongside contemporary debates about institutional failure and radicalisation; RTÉ and specialist titles repeatedly highlighted the guerrilla production methods and cautionary narrative.
RTÉ recently purchased the film for a four year contract.
The controlled-release approach generated sustained attention rather than a single-week theatrical window.
The film continues to be discussed as a cult-leaning Irish independent title that successfully translated a difficult subject into festival awards, critical notice and audience discovery without a conventional wide release.
